Well water and some public water systems may contain tiny bits of sediment or other objectionable debris. Try a simple whole-house water filter. This can also extend the life of water treatment equipment, fixtures, and plumbing. Our Problem Water Specialists can install a new whole-house water filter or service your existing filter.

Why install a Whole-House Water Filter?

Whole House Sediment Filters will catch unwanted particulates from entering your home and improve the quality of your water. Filter housings can be used with a variety of filter cartridges including, carbon for taste and odor, polyphosphate, anti-scale, and more.

Big Blue Filter Housings Are Ideal for Whole-House Filtration

10″ or 20″ length cartridges allow you to reduce the frequency between filter changes. The most common cartridges we install in the Big Blue Housing are sediment to catch debris, carbon for metals, organic compounds, taste, odor, and polyphosphate anti-scale cartridges. We source the best filter cartridges in the industry.

Polyphosphate

Prevents the formation of scale and corrosion. It also reduces silt, rust, dirt, sediment, existing scale, and sand. Made with food-grade slow-dissolving polyphosphate balls, the high-capacity design we offer gives you maximum chemical absorption and a radial structure of 50 to 5 microns. Our polyphosphate solutions vary by application and desired outcome.

Sediment

The sediment cartridge captures and removes particles such as dirt and debris from your water. Sediment is a general term for all non-liquid particles in water. Rust flakes can enter your water supply from corroded galvanized plumbing. Flow changes in the water supply can also carry sediment into your home. The sediment filter is the first defense against this dirt and debris and prevents all these solid particles from entering your water supply. If you have a private well, whole-house sediment filtering is recommended. Groundwater likely contains more sediment than the city’s water supply.

Carbon

Our carbon block cartridges utilize the revolutionary benefits of high-density, activated coconut shell carbon to produce clean water. This removes not only chlorine, unpleasant odors, and sediment, but colors as well. Also, because activated coconut shell carbon provides a significantly higher volume of micropores and a lower ash content than standard carbon block filters, they remove harmful chemicals other products leave behind, like trihalomethanes, and greatly decrease volatile organic compounds, such as chloroform and petrochemicals.

Some applications may require an automatic water filter for iron, sulfur and other contaminates.
